When you book your Initial Appointment, you will receive a text with a link to an Intake form. This will include questions relating to your past medical history and your presenting complaint. This should be completed before coming to your appointment, however if you can't complete it before arriving, we have a paper copy that can be completed at the clinic.

When you arrive, you will be greeted in the waiting room before your Osteo takes you to the consulting room. They will take a detailed medical history and give you the opportunity to ask any questions you have before beginning treatment.
 
Once this has been done, your osteopath will perform a physical examination relating to your injury. This will involve palpating (examining by touch) and assessing your movement to find any issues and identify the structures causing your pain. You may be required to partially disrobe during the examination.

​By now, your osteopath should have a working diagnosis and will treat you based on what they have found in the examination. Treatment will involve a range of techniques focused on addressing the issues found in the assessment. These may include massage, mobilisation, stretching, joint manipulation, traction, dry needling, cupping etc.

Once treatment has been completed, your Osteopath will do a reassessment to evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment. They will communicate how long they expect the injury to settle, what you can do to assist with recovery, and outline a treatment plan to help achieve your goals.
